Though Holy Communion is a symbolic occasion of joining oneself with the body and blood of Christ, it is not necessary to find a special communion dress. It does not matter whether it is your very first communion or not.

You can simply select one from your current wardrobe if you are short of money. The best color would be white or anything that has the shade of white like cream or beige. Choose a communion dress, which is of simple design, rather than with elaborate cutting or additions. It would seem more appropriate for such a religious ceremony.

If you are chosen as a junior bridesmaid, you do not have to worry about the cost. Normally, the bride-to-be pays for the junior bridesmaid dresses. The dress is usually chosen with the same shade of color, theme and style as the bridal party. So, if you are buying such a dress for yourself, check with the bride-to-be about her theme, color and style before selecting yours.

If you are short of cash, do not worry. It is not necessary to purchase a special communion dress, even if it is your very first one. You can simply select a white dress of modest style from your current wardrobe.
