Networking Tools And Options ...

Computer network has come a long way since co-axial cables. Better wiring has allowed achieving throughput of 1 Gigabit per second using a Cat 6 Wire. This wire is made up of 4 twisted pairs of copper wire which reduces radio interference. Throughputs of 10 Gigabits are even possible by a shortening the cable length between computers by half from about 100 meters to 55 meters or less.

Networking several computers sometimes require a central control. A typical situation is monitoring and maintaining several distinct servers from a single workstation. This is made possible by the use of a DVI KVM Switch which literally allows switching a Keyboard, Video and Mouse set, thus the KVM nomenclature. Also, maintaining security by preventing viruses and unwarranted outside connections from unknown users is a 24/7 job. With many users, or nodes, connected at any one time, intrusion of viruses has a very high probability which can literally bring the entire network down. Implementing a Network Access Control system automates this process across 100,000 nodes.
